Alcohol is everywhere.

It’s all around us. We use it to celebrate, commiserate, relieve stress and boredom.

We think it helps us relax after a busy day at the office, smooth over socially awkward situations, relieve the monotony of parenthood and connect with our partners.

The truth is that alcohol messes with our minds, our bodies, and our emotions.

It makes us sleep terribly and the symptoms of anxiety and depression worse. It halts weight loss and makes it harder to connect with our loved ones. And it’s habit forming because it’s literally designed to be addictive.

And one of the biggest obstacles we face in changing the habit of drinking too much are our own assumptions and limiting beliefs around what life without alcohol will look like, and fears about what it would mean (to us and to our friends, family and careers) if we were to decide we should stop drinking.

The question shouldn’t be: Is this bad enough to quit?

Ask yourself: Is this good enough to keep going?
